From the first sip of freshly extracted espressp to the breathtaking mountain views, every guest experienced the joy of connecting with the roots of Puerto Rican coffee culture. Morning Welcome with Fresh Coffee
The day began with steaming cups of our signature Puerto Rican coffee, roasted medium and to perfection. Guests gathered by our 787 Coffee shop, our beautiful store shopped like a little hut that captures our guest hearts the moment they order their complementary coffee. Savoring both the freshly roasted coffee beans from Hacienda Iluminada, and the views of our open space as we shared the story of our farm’s heritage. The anticipation for the coffee tour was thick and the energy high, but our specialty coffee cut right through it.
Meet Javier: "I’ve been waiting all week for this. That first sip of my cappuccino just melts all the stress away. You can taste the care they put in the beans. This is the best coffee in Puerto Rico I've ever had, and the tour hasn't even started yet!"
Immersive Coffee Farm Tour
Walking through the fields of coffee plants, visitors learned how each coffee bean is carefully planted and harvested. The hands-on experience gives everyone a new appreciation for the dedication of what our farmers go through to pick out the best coffee beans. We even had a special guest who couldn't wait to get her hands dirty on her very own Puerto Rican coffee tour.
Meet Isabella (6 years old) & her mom, Sofia: "My daughter, Isabella, insisted on picking her very own coffee cherry. It was so cute seeing her little hands carefully pluck the ripe, red fruit. Then, she tried the coffee fruit right off the vine! Her face lit up. It was a beautiful moment for our family.”
A Deeper Connection: Our New Cabins
In addition to the farm tour and coffee tasting, our guests discovered another incredible feature that adds a new level of our story living coffee experience. Meet Carlos: "I was already amazed by the tour, but then I looked up and saw that beautiful wooden cabin up the hill. When the guide told us it's available for guests to stay overnight, my jaw dropped! Waking up to this view and the smell of fresh coffee... that’s the ultimate dream. You hear the symphony of the coqui as you drift off to sleep. I’m definitely coming back to stay and experience a night in this Puerto Rican paradise."
A Perfect Ending with Pure Joy
The afternoon wrapped up with conversations, photos, and unforgettable memories. Guests left with not only bags of freshly roasted coffee beans but also a deep connection to Maricao and Puerto Rican coffee. The day ended with some feathered friends making a special appearance.
Meet the Johnson family: "The kids were absolutely thrilled to see all the animals roaming around freely. They couldn't get enough of the peacocks showing off their beautiful feathers. Seeing all the animals made the farm feel so alive and added to the magic of the whole experience. It was the perfect way to end a perfect day, and we love that we get to take a bag of that incredible Puerto Rican coffee home with us!"
